Scenario :: 15-Oct-2009

A man in his mid forties came to the drive talk desk here at joy fm with a dicey situation. He is torn between his Christian values, his family responsibility and his civic duty to expose crime. Koma’s story is simple – After a long sojourn abroad, he was surprised when he came down to Ghana this year to discover that his 27 year – old nephew was playing with under 23 team in Ghana. When Koma was leaving Ghana, his nephew was 7, now after 20 years abroad, he comes back to find the boy playing with under 23 team. This has been troubling him greatly but his children have advised him to let it be since the boy is doing well internationally and the revelation will destroy the footballer’s name and career but koma feels that as a Christian he has a duty to live true, as an Uncle, he has to correct his nephew and as a citizen, he has to expose wrong.

So what do you think? Should he be a good Christian and publicize the boy’s true age? Or will the revelation cause more problems than it seeks to solve? Advise koma on Drive – Talk.

Bola,

This is an inconvenient sin that he will have to learn to live with. Does Koma want us to believe that he has no skeletons in his closet?

He should leave sleeping dogs alone

HI BOLA,

I THINK IT'S NOT THE UNCLE'S BUSINESS. IS HE THE MOTHER? HE SHOULD GIVE US BREAK AND HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE LIES ABOUT HIS AGE. I BET YOU THAT THE UNCLE IS NOT USING HIS REAL NAME OR AGE IN ABROAD.

What is making the uncle remember his Christian principles at this time. If he was a good uncle he'd have kept in touch while he was away, but he obviously didn't. What is he going to give the nephew in replacement for doing away with his dream. How dare he?

Knowing about a crime and not going to the autorities makes you an accomplise. however, when it comes to age, I think it is a different situation. What about those who do not even know when they were born... If the guy is in good shape he shd be left alone!

A perfect sign of jeolousy.. This has nothing to do with christian values. the player should be left to confess at his own choosen time..

Guess he has notice the dude is making more doo with less effort.

Bola, Ask the dude this simple question? has he not lie in his life before...

Guess he lied even for the visa to travel... hmmmm!

People make mistakes and should be left to correct it.. except it affects another man..

greetings to man Ayivor..

It will not be good to do the young man this, since he has emotions which can result in anything you can think of as a reasonable person.

how many of such "crimes" did he correct during his 20 years stay abroad. among recalcitrant and incorrigible whites. please i beg!

Mr. holy than thou if after your 20 years stay in abroad brought you fortune as people think, you would not bother about this boy who is now making it in life through hard work and determination. think about what to do with the rest of your life and leave the poor boy alone. didn't you have plans for going back to Ghana? pursue those plans and leave the boy alone after all, he is not the cause of your wasted 20 years in abroad. are you saying you have never lied before, then be the first to blow the whistle if not be the first to see the priest for your confessions because that is what Jesus thought us
