Scenario :: 2-Nov-2009

James, a master’s degree student in UK called us today and said he needed our loyal listeners to advice him. He said he met Moesha – a medical student - during one of his holidays in Ghana. They became friends; one thing led to the other and they have decided to tie the knot in December. Just last week, however, Moesha revealed to him that she cannot marry him because she was once involved in a lesbian-relationship and her former partner is jealous and has threatened to disclose their past affair. Moesha is now a stanch Christian and hence, she has decided to let go of her marriage plans rather than submit both herself and James to any humiliation. James is very confused and hurt. He says invitation cards have been sent out, venues booked, and more importantly he really loves her and thinks she is the perfect mate for him. But Moesha has asked him to give her space. She has recently started distancing herself from the relationship, even though she confesses she also loves him.

So on drive talk today, we are asking; what should James do? Let’s help a distressed brother. Should he forget about her and move on, or should he convince Moesha that the marriage can still work?

Call the woman's bluff. If she was her former partner, then how long has she been an ex?

Was she carrying on the relationship on the side? Would she have told James if the woman had not threatened?

James should not just marry her to help her. If he genuinely loves her and the feeling is mutual, then the should not continue living in the pat. She should get on with her life snf brave it.

What would the woman have done if it had been the man?

Bola if she has really changed then i see no reason why she should be scared. otherwise they should forget the past and go ahead.

Bola please wish my bro. Hayford Hamilton Leigh a happy birthday today!!!

Bola, I think you have to find time and talk about this lesbian thing and condem it outright because it is social cankar. Married women with their hubands and everything good there is marriage and now endorging in lesbianism. As for James he should pray about it and decide for himself.

Bola, He should go ahead and get married, and report the woman to the Police for Blackmail. The Family and the Priest should be informed. It is a mere threat. Man go ahead and get married.

James should hold his horses. Moesha was not involved in a one-night lesbian stand. It was a lesbian relationship that covered a period of time. Does James know what sort of person Moesha is? What has this lesbian relationship done to Moesha? James should think about the future with Moesha. If she two-timed him, could she do so even after the wedding? The consequences of entering into marriage with someone with lesbian tendencies are what James should worry about, not wedding arrangements and invitation cards. When did Moesha change? Why would her lesbian partner be so keen on revealing their secret if Moesha had broken off with her a long time ago? James should not go ahead with this wedding as planned, only to have to deal with issues involved in marrying a "former" lesbian. Marriage is too serious to be handled in this way.
